We specialize in ADU remodels, rehabs and flips, new construction, and thoughtful development projects. Job description Hiwa Builders cabinetry division is a custom cabinetry and architectural millwork shop dedicated to precision craftsmanship and quality. We design, build, and install high-end residential and commercial cabinetry. We take pride in a clean, organized, and collaborative shop environment where hard work and expertise are respected. We are looking for an Experienced Cabinet Shop Technician / Cabinetmaker to join our team. In this role, you will take custom projects from raw lumber and sheet goods to fully assembled, high-end finished products. You must be comfortable reading shop drawings, operating standard woodworking machinery safely, and executing precise joinery with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities Include the following:
Fabrication & Assembly:
Cut, shape, assemble, and finish custom cabinetry, face frames, doors, drawers, and trim components according to shop drawings.
Machine Operation:
Efficiently and safely operate woodworking tools including table saws, sliding table saws, shapers, routers, edgebanders, planers, and jointers.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished components for tight joints, smooth surfaces, proper squareness, and exact dimensions prior to finishing/installation.
Hardware Installation:
Install hinges, soft-close slides, pulls, touch latches, and integrated hardware mechanisms accurately.
Shop Safety & Maintenance:
Maintain a clean workspace, observe all safety protocols, and perform basic routine maintenance on machinery. The Ideal Candidate has the following:
Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in custom cabinetry, fine woodworking, or architectural millwork.
Blueprint Literacy:
Ability to read and interpret detailed shop drawings, and cut lists.
Tool Proficiency:
Expertise in traditional woodworking hand tools and stationary power machinery
Detail-Oriented:
Strong mathematical skills, precise measurement ability (imperial and metric), and a keen eye for aesthetics and alignment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Work Ethic:
Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and in a team setting.

Starting at $25 - $34 per hour based on experience
