Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
A Builder repairs and assembles cabinets with quality or material issues to pass inspection using various tools and fixtures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use of pneumatic equipment, power, and hand tools; hot melt glue, jigs, and other equipment to assemble cabinets and/or install missing components of cabinets to specificationsCheck components and assembled cabinets for quality standards and assemble packing traysUse computer programs in various aspects in building and repair of cabinets to specifications Accurately interpret production labels and data in various computer systems When assigned, work on the off-line to address building errors Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeepingOther duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, and color variancesAbility to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Required Physical Ability:
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of timeFrequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushingRegularly lift and/or move up to 30lb, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lb
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperaturesProtective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, gloves, and sleevesThe noise level is usually moderate to highOccasional overtime and weekend work as requiredBenefits of working for American Woodmark include:
