Core Responsibilities Implement scenic fabrication and finishing techniques based on client briefs, design direction, and production specifications. Execute a variety of sculpting, painting, and scenic finishing methods to achieve the desired aesthetic and level of detail. Perform material finishing techniques including sanding, patina application, wood staining, distressing, and other surface treatments. Utilize proficient foam sculpting techniques to create scenic elements, forms, textures, and prototypes. Work confidently with epoxies and related materials, understanding their appropriate applications and limitations. Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail throughout fabrication and finishing processes. Interpret visual references, drawings, samples, and creative direction and translate them into finished scenic elements. Maintain awareness of production timelines, deadlines, and schedules, both within the scenic department and across collaborating departments. Please share your portfolio with us! Apply solution-based thinking to resolve challenges encountered during fabrication, finishing, installation, and prototyping. Participate in the development and refinement of prototypes, testing materials and techniques to determine effective solutions. Adapt techniques and approaches as project requirements, materials, or creative direction evolve. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while properly handling tools, equipment, and scenic materials. Follow established safety procedures and best practices when working with tools, chemicals, epoxies, paints, and other scenic materials.
