Job Description
Fabuwood is seeking detail-oriented CAD CAD/CAM and cabinetry drafting professional with experience developing accurate production drawings, interpreting architectural and dealer specifications, and supporting manufacturing workflows. Skilled in cabinet construction principles, millwork detailing, and CNC-ready documentation programs. Familiar with cabinetry components, joinery methods, and hardware integration. Strong collaborator with the ability to work cross-functionally with estimating, engineering, and production teams to ensure accurate, buildable, and efficient designs. Success in this role means taking full ownership of delivering exceptional service, high standards, going above and beyond, and responding to inquiries with speed and accuracy—while driving cross-team collaboration to ensure a positive experience.
Schedule:
Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm & Fri 8am-1pm Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed shop drawings machine ready files and programs based on dealer and architectural specifications for production and quoting purposes.
- Interpreted technical drawings and converted design intent into accurate fabrication-ready layouts.
- Apply knowledge of cabinet construction including frames, panels, shelving, toe kicks, and door systems to ensure build accuracy.
- Assist in preparing material breakdowns and component lists based on design requirements.
- Review and revise drawings based on internal feedback from engineering, estimating, and production teams.
- Ensure accuracy of dimensions, joinery methods, and hardware placement in cabinet designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and improve manufacturability.
- Maintain organized documentation of drawings, revisions, and project updates.
- Ensure high attention to detail while managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Cabinet Vision Engineer or Drafter in custom millwork or cabinetry.
- Expert-level proficiency in (Cabinet Vision and S2M Center) programming for CNC output (Required).
- Strong understanding of cabinetry design, joinery, and millwork construction
- Demonstrate ability to produce accurate, production-ready documentation.
- In-depth knowledge of millwork hardware systems and integration methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in cross-team collaboration.
- English (Required).
- Must be able to work on-site in Newark, NJ.
