Contract-to-Hire, or Contract Only Potential for Permanent Position with Full Benefits After 90 Days About the Role Sentenac House Interiors is a luxury residential interior design firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona. We are looking for an experienced Cabinet Designer / Detailer & Procurement Specialist to join our team. This is a technical cabinet production and procurement role , not a traditional client-facing kitchen designer position. You will take our designers' approved concepts, plans, specifications, and design direction and turn them into accurate, production-ready cabinet plans and orders . You will work directly with our multiple cabinetry vendors and their representatives to obtain pricing, develop custom orders, coordinate revisions, and ultimately place and manage cabinet orders through the production process. The ideal candidate has previous experience working for a cabinet dealer or cabinetry company and understands the process from design and field measurement through shop drawings, quoting, ordering, and installation. This candidate understands cabinetry construction and installation requirements, and can collaborate closely with contractors, designers, installers, and clients to ensure designs are both beautiful and buildable. This position is primarily remote, but local site visits and field measurements are required , so candidates must be located in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. What You'll Do Cabinet Design & Detailing Create detailed cabinet layouts, floor plans, and elevations using ProKitchen or 2020 Design Produce accurate cabinet shop drawings and installation-ready plans Translate interior designer plans, elevations, specifications, and design intent into technically accurate cabinetry Develop cabinetry specifications for kitchens, bathrooms, closets, bars, entertainment centers, built-ins, and other custom cabinetry Ensure cabinet layouts work with appliances, plumbing, electrical, windows, doors, flooring, and other architectural conditions Review designs for constructability and identify potential issues before cabinets are ordered Incorporate custom modifications and non-standard cabinetry details Verify dimensions and ensure designs accurately reflect field conditions Understand different cabinetry vendor lines and offerings, working from spec books and catalogs Field Measurements Perform on-site field measurements for cabinetry projects Verify critical dimensions and existing conditions before cabinet orders are placed Identify discrepancies between architectural plans and actual field conditions Communicate field conditions and required changes to the design/project team Coordinate with contractors and other trades when necessary Vendor Coordination & Procurement Work directly with our three cabinetry vendors and their representatives Prepare cabinetry for vendor pricing and obtain quotes Work within vendor pricing systems, spec books, product catalogs, and ordering systems Understand cabinet construction, available modifications, upgrades, accessories, and custom options Prepare and place custom cabinet orders Coordinate special/custom orders that fall outside standard cabinet configurations Review pricing for accuracy and identify discrepancies or missing items Communicate with vendor representatives regarding pricing, lead times, availability, modifications, and order requirements Process cabinet revisions and change orders Review vendor confirmations and shop drawings for accuracy before production Track orders, revisions, and outstanding issues through delivery and installation Project Coordination Collaborate with our interior designers, project managers, contractors, and subcontractors Maintain organized project documentation and cabinetry specifications Provide technical clarification to project teams and installers Help troubleshoot cabinetry issues that arise during construction or installation Maintain clear communication and follow-through on cabinet-related action items Manage multiple cabinetry projects and deadlines simultaneously What We're Looking For Required Previous professional experience working for a cabinet dealer, cabinet company, or cabinetry showroom Hands-on experience with cabinet ordering and vendor coordination Strong proficiency in ProKitchen OR 2020 Design Experience producing cabinet shop drawings and cabinetry plans Experience working with cabinet specifications, pricing systems, and manufacturer/dealer ordering processes Experience with custom cabinet orders and modifications Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior design, and construction drawings Strong understanding of residential remodeling and construction practices Ability to perform accurate field measurements Strong understanding of cabinet construction and installation requirements Exceptional attention to detail Highly organized with strong follow-through Ability to work independently in a remote environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be located in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area due to required site visits Preferred 5+ years of cabinet design/detailing experience Experience working with multiple cabinet manufacturers or product lines Experience working directly with cabinet dealer representatives Experience with luxury residential cabinetry Experience handling custom cabinetry and non-standard modifications Experience reviewing vendor shop drawings and order confirmations Familiarity with NKBA standards Experience with closet design SketchUp, AutoCAD, or Revit experience What Success Looks Like You are the person our design team can hand a kitchen plan to and trust that the cabinetry will be accurately detailed, properly specified, correctly priced, and ready to order . You understand the difference between something that looks good in a rendering and something that can actually be manufactured, delivered, and installed correctly . You are comfortable going back and forth with cabinet reps, asking the right questions, understanding the limitations of each cabinet line, finding solutions for custom conditions, and catching problems before they become expensive problems in the field . You are also comfortable owning the process from: Field Measurement → Cabinet Design → Shop Drawings → Vendor Pricing → Revisions → Custom Orders → Final Approval → Order Placement → Production → Installation Support Work Environment Fully remote for day-to-day work Local site visits and field measurements throughout the Phoenix/Scottsdale area Collaborative team environment with interior designers and project managers Ongoing interaction with three cabinetry vendors and their representatives Opportunity to become an integral part of a growing luxury interior design firm Compensation & Growth This position will begin as a 90-day contract-to-hire opportunity . Following a successful 90-day period, there is potential to transition into a permanent position with a full benefits package . Mileage reimbursement benefit on top of pay.
