Job Description
We are an established, high-end residential cabinet manufacturer seeking an experienced Cabinet Builder/Bench Carpenter with 5-7 years of experience. This is not an entry-level position — the candidate must be fully competent working independently in a wood shop with limited supervision, following the direction of the lead carpenter. This is an in-shop position with limited opportunities for field work. Near Oak Ridge and Oliver Springs.
Requirements:
5-7 years' experience as a cabinet builder (residential and/or commercial); will consider comparable carpentry experience Fully capable operating table saws, hand tools, sanders, and other standard shop equipment with minimal oversight CNC Router Experience a plus Able to read and understand fractions and decimals, and accurately read a tape measure Able to work independently and problem-solve on the fly; works with the shop foreman, lead carpenter, and production designer to identify issues and collaborate with the team on resolution Ability to read shop drawings and follow directions from the lead carpenter Must be able to work quickly and accurately High attention to quality and detail Safety minded Strong communication skills and a team player with a good attitude Flexibility — day-to-day projects may vary based on the production schedule Willingness to work overtime occasionally Good attendance Sanding and paint prep experience a big plus
