Full Job Description Job Description:
The Bilingual Carpentry & Prep Assistant supports the creative and production team with the preparation, construction, modification, and maintenance of props, sets, and other creative elements. This role assists with basic carpentry tasks, material preparation, painting and finishing, organization, and general shop support. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced creative environment Key Responsibilities Assist with carpentry, construction, assembly, and repair of props and set pieces Measure, cut, sand, assemble, and finish wood and other materials Safely operate and maintain basic hand and power tools Prepare materials, tools, and work areas for fabrication projects Assist with building, installation, breakdown, and modifications of props and set pieces Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workshop Load, move, and store materials, tools, and completed pieces Follow project instructions, safety procedures, and deadlines Qualifications Previous carpentry, fabrication, construction, theater, events, or shop experience preferred but not required Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools preferred Ability to read and follow measurements, instructions, and basic project plans Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious Basic English communication skills; Bilingual (English/Spanish) Flexibility to assist with changing project needs and deadlines Work Environment & Physical Requirements Creative workshop, warehouse, and production environments Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying Frequent use of hand tools and power tools Exposure to dust, paint, adhesives, wood, and other shop materials Fast-paced environment with project-based and time-sensitive deadlines Ability to safely follow instructions & use appropriate personal protective equipment Benefits 401(k) + 3% matching Health, Vision & Dental Insurance Life Insurance & Options for Voluntary Benefits Paid Time Off and Paid Training
