Journeyman WoodworkerPosition Summary As a Journeyman Woodworker, you are a skilled craftsperson responsible for producing high-quality millwork, cabinetry, and related components. You work across multiple areas of the shop, including assembly, casework, machining support, and finishing preparation. You are expected to work both independently and as part of a team, maintain high craftsmanship standards, and contribute to a safe, efficient, and team-oriented production environment. Core Responsibilities Build, assemble, and fabricate millwork and cabinetry components to specification. Interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and production documentation accurately. Perform layout, assembly, and fitting of casework and architectural millwork. Operate hand tools, power tools, and standard woodworking equipment safely and effectively. Assist with machining support as needed (CNC prep, edge banding, panel processing, etc.). Perform quality checks throughout production to ensure accuracy and fit/finish standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times. Support shop flow by completing assigned work efficiently and meeting production schedules. Communicate material needs, design issues, or production concerns to leads or supervision. Quality and Problem Solving Ensure all work meets company standards for craftsmanship, accuracy, and fit. Identify and correct issues in fabrication before they move downstream. Troubleshoot build challenges using sound woodworking knowledge and experience. Collaborate with team members to resolve dimensional, material, or design issues. Take ownership of work quality and verify accuracy before passing to the next stage. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work cooperatively with team members across all shop departments. Support a smooth production flow by communicating clearly and proactively. Share practical insights that improve build methods, efficiency, or quality. Participate in improving shop processes, tools, and workflow systems. Demonstrate adaptability when priorities or schedules shift.
