Position Overview:
Reporting to the shop supervisor, the cabinet builder is a specialized role in the casework and millwork division. The cabinet builder can complete custom cabinet in a fully equipped shop from start to finish with confidence. This person is familiar with multiple materials including hardwood, veneer, and other specialty finishes. The main responsibility of this role is to work hand in hand with project managers and engineers to provide the highest level of construction standards while maintaining a professional attitude with the utmost respect for Showcase employees.Job Duties:
Perform all cabinet assembly and building with the ability to reason and understand and carry out detailed written, illustrated and/or oral instructions. Inspection of doors and materials to specified standards Ability to read blueprints and drawings Ensure work is completed as requested and staged appropriately for loading Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding tools and equipment Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; safe operation of machines and equipment Comply with all Showcase Kitchens, Inc. policies and procedures Proactively communicate delays or concerns that may or are affecting the completion of the job to the shop supervisorQualifications:
Excellent carpentry and hand tool skills Ability to use power tools (table saw, jigsaw, etc.) Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure Ability to work within a team or independently as needed Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Willing to work evenings and weekends rarelyPhysical Demands:
Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted Occasional lifting from 41+ lbs, assisted Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending and kneeling Pay is determined by experience.Disclaimer:
