Job Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:
Skills and desire to perform high-quality installations Studies blueprints or plans for information pertaining to the type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard and dimensions of structure to be fixed or fabricated. Selects type of materials needed. Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, screws, dowel pins or glue. Erects framework for structures and lays sub-flooring. Builds and installs partitions and cabinet work. Applies shock-absorbing, sound-deadening and decorative panel to walls and ceiling. Use various hand and power tools in performance of installation. Installs various other equipment needed to Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware such as locks, kick plates, etc. Thorough test of installed materials for conformance to specifications. Accurately account for materials per processes and procedures. Restocking ordered materials once they are received Ensure paperwork and documentation is effectively completed and submitted immediately for each job. Perform all job duties following all 5S/LEAN manufacturing requirements and according to all safety and health policies.
Required Skills:
Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with other employees. Able to read and interpret documents such as layouts, blueprints, engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions. Basic mathematical skills.
Required Experience and Education:
Requires education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma, plus some specialized training. Requires one to three years manufacturing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic carpentry skills. Some experience in construction carpentry. Some experience in cabinet carpentry. Some experience in basic plumbing (not required) Experience in electrical and/or mechanical piping assembly Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Some experience in a job shop environment Experience with laminating sheets of plywood
Physical Requirements:
Required to occasionally lift to 70 pounds and will regularly lift up to 25 pounds such as making panel installations, cabinet installations, cutting materials, etc. The employee is most of the time is required to walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and reach above shoulders. Repetitive motions for use of power tools and hand tools. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Will regularly talk and listen and move from place to place. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
