$20-$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications About the Position BioGro Inc. is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Production Technician to produce liquid and slurry fertilizers and lead a small production support crew. Applicants must have hands-on mixing and batching experience to be considered. Hands-on mixing and batching experience is required. The ideal candidate can follow different formulations, accurately measure ingredients, operate mixing and transfer equipment, and consistently produce batches that meet specifications. This is a hands-on production role with crew leadership responsibilities. You will help organize daily work, keep production moving, and ensure your crew follows quality and safety procedures. About BioGro BioGro manufactures more than 130 product formulations, including humic acid, biofertilizers, and custom blends designed for specific soil and crop needs. Our Buckeye operation continues to expand, creating opportunities for capable employees to take on greater responsibility. Key Responsibilities Produce different liquid and slurry fertilizer mixes using approved formulas, batch sheets, and operating procedures. Accurately weigh and measure raw materials, calculate batch quantities, and follow the correct ingredient addition sequence. Operate mixers, pumps, tanks, screening equipment, and liquid transfer systems. Monitor mixing conditions and check product quality, including pH, density, consistency, and other specified requirements. Recognize batching errors, unusual equipment behavior, or product inconsistencies; communicate issues promptly and make authorized adjustments. Maintain complete, accurate records of ingredients, quantities, batch results, and production activity. Lead a small production support crew by assigning tasks, explaining instructions, monitoring progress, and checking completed work. Coordinate material preparation, mixing, transfers, packaging, and cleanup to meet daily production priorities. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, material handling, and inventory counts. Fill totes, jugs, and bags; clean and inspect containers and production equipment. Inspect tanks, hoses, pumps, valves, and connections for leaks, damage, and correct labeling. Perform routine equipment care and report maintenance needs. Follow chemical handling procedures, Safety Data Sheets, and required personal protective equipment practices. Support process improvements, product trials, and other facility duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Previous hands-on experience mixing and batching liquid or slurry products in fertilizer, chemical, coatings, food processing, or a similar production environment. Ability to make multiple formulations accurately and consistently. Strong attention to detail, particularly when measuring ingredients, following batch instructions, and documenting results. Ability to organize daily production tasks and direct a small support crew. Practical understanding of weights, measures, ratios, and basic production calculations. Experience operating production equipment such as mixers, pumps, valves, hoses, and transfer systems. Ability to identify problems, follow troubleshooting procedures, and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers. A dependable work history and commitment to safe, clean, organized production. High school diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications Three or more years of relevant production or batching experience. Previous experience as a lead operator, crew lead, or production supervisor. Experience with fertilizer production, humic products, or high-solids slurry mixing. Forklift and other material handling equipment experience. Experience using scales, pH meters, and density measurement equipment. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position involves mostly outdoor work in Buckeye, including hot weather, along with some indoor production work. Employees work around moving machinery, chemicals, noise, hoses, and material handling equipment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent bending and repetitive tasks. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Ability to read batch instructions, inspect equipment, and operate production controls. Ability to complete required medical clearance and fit testing for products that require a full-face respirator. Occasional travel to other BioGro facilities, approximately 5%.
