About Cumbrex Cumbrex is an established mining-services company with more than 19 years of experience supporting mineral operations in Peru. We are expanding our U.S. operations to deliver specialized services for leading mining companies in Arizona, with potential expansion in Nevada. Position Summary We are hiring two reliable, safety-minded technicians to prepare rock samples for analysis at our Tucson facility. The work includes receiving, labeling, drying, crushing, splitting, pulverizing, sieving when required, weighing and organizing samples under documented procedures. Previous mining or laboratory experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Receive samples and verify identification, paperwork and chain-of-custody information. Operate drying ovens, jaw crushers, splitters, pulverizers, balances and sieves after training and authorization. Maintain correct sample identification and traceability throughout every preparation stage. Ensure samples are properly split, homogenized and prepared to the specified particle-size requirements. Record sample weights, preparation stages and batch information in manual or electronic logs. Clean equipment between samples and follow contamination-control procedures. Perform authorized equipment inspections and routine cleaning and report defects or abnormal conditions. Maintain proper housekeeping, PPE use, sample security and waste-handling practices. Support inventory control and meet production and quality targets. Perform other related duties according to sample flow and laboratory priorities. Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED. Ability to accurately follow written procedures, sample labels, identification codes, and basic numerical instructions. Strong attention to detail and reliability in repetitive work. Basic computer and data-entry skills. Ability to work safely around dust, noise, heat and industrial machinery. Preferred qualifications Experience in a laboratory, mining, manufacturing, warehouse or production environment. Experience with crushers, pulverizers, ovens, splitters, balances or forklifts. Technical education in geology, chemistry, mining or a related field. Experience with Excel, LIMS and/or barcode systems. Bilingual English/Spanish communication. Work environment and physical requirements Dust, noise, heat and moving machinery; PPE is required. Prolonged standing and repetitive handling of sample containers. Frequent lifting up to 50 lb and team lifting when needed, with reasonable accommodation. Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
