Job Description
Batcher Help Keep Production Flowing at a Growing Manufacturing Facility Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Batcher to support daily production operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products are prepared accurately, production schedules stay on track, and inventory is managed effectively. The Batcher will support raw material preparation, specialty oil blending, inventory management, and bulk liquid operations while maintaining strict food safety, quality, and traceability standards. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values accuracy, and takes pride in contributing to a successful manufacturing operation. Responsibilities Prepare raw materials for production runs according to established procedures. Batch and blend specialty oils following detailed production specifications and requirements. Review production orders and batch tickets to ensure materials, quantities, and processes are correct. Maintain inventory levels of raw materials and production supplies to support continuous operations. Identify potential shortages and communicate inventory needs to leadership. Accurately document batch information, lot numbers, and required production records. Release materials to production lines in a timely and accurate manner. Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move materials and finished goods. Load and unload bulk liquid tankers in accordance with safety and quality procedures. Support production activities involving totes, drums, tankers, and bulk storage systems. Collect, label, and maintain quality-control samples for testing and traceability. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety protocols, and company quality standards. Adhere to all safety procedures and operating guidelines. Communicate production concerns, delays, and issues to supervisors and planners. Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, and quality. Perform bulk liquid transfers and work around storage tanks safely and effectively. Utilize ERP or production systems to support inventory management and production documentation. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, production, batching, blending, mixing, or processing environments. Experience working from production orders, batch sheets, or batch tickets. Forklift operation experience and familiarity with material handling equipment. Experience in food manufacturing, liquid processing, chemical processing, or industrial manufacturing environments. Inventory and raw material management experience. Ability to maintain accurate production records, lot tracking, and traceability documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed production instructions. Comfortable working around bulk liquid transfers and storage tanks. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Ability to perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Commitment to food safety, GMP compliance, and workplace safety standards. Preferred Food manufacturing experience. Experience with liquid processing or oil manufacturing. Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, or SQF programs. Inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment. Tanker loading and unloading experience. Railcar operation experience. Quality-control sampling and testing support experience. Work Environment This position works a 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule in a food manufacturing environment.
The role involves:
Working in production and warehouse areas with regular forklift traffic. Operating around totes, drums, tankers, and bulk storage tanks. Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and performing repetitive movements throughout the shift. Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
