Must know English or bilingual preferred Position Summary Dependable and safety-focused Lead to support daily operations. The Lead will be responsible for helping keep the plant running safely, efficiently, and reliably , while providing direction and support to operators working on the assigned shift. The successful candidate will be hands-on, mechanically inclined, comfortable working in an industrial environment, and able to communicate effectively with operators, maintenance personnel, and plant leadership. Key Responsibilities Start up and shut down plant equipment according to established SOPs. Monitor pyrolysis reactors and supporting equipment. Monitor temperatures, pressures, flows, feed rates, and other operating parameters. Make appropriate equipment and process adjustments when operating conditions change. Identify abnormal operating conditions and respond appropriately. Coordinate and provide directions to operators working on the assigned shift. Assign daily tasks and ensure operators are properly positioned to support plant operations. Train and mentor new operators on equipment, procedures, and safety requirements. Ensure operators follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures. Troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues and determine when problems need to be escalated to Maintenance or Management. Coordinate with Maintenance when equipment requires inspection, repair, or service. Monitor incoming almond shells/feedstock and associated material-handling systems. Monitor biochar production, handling, and storage. Complete accurate production logs, inspection sheets, shift reports, and other required documentation. Track downtime, production rates, equipment performance, and other operational KPIs. Perform quality checks and help ensure finished product meets required specifications. Maintain good housekeeping and organization throughout the plant. Conduct and/or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and shift meetings. Ensure proper PPE and respiratory-protection requirements are followed. Communicate operational issues, production information, and safety concerns during shift handoffs. Report significant equipment, safety, quality, or production issues to the Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager. Assist with developing, updating, and improving SOPs and operating procedures. Participate in emergency-response procedures, equipment shutdowns, and plant recovery activities. Perform other duties as assigned by plant leadership.
