We're looking for a hands-on Production Technician to join our Waterbury shop team, someone who takes pride in precise, quality work and wants to grow their skills in composites manufacturing. There's room to grow here, and we'd welcome someone interested in building their skills and taking on more responsibility over time.

Safety First Quality Teamwork Integrity Professionalism Innovation Family-oriented Environmental Stewardship Key Responsibilities Gel-Coating Apply gelcoat to molds using spray equipment or hand methods. Ensure proper thickness, smooth surface quality, and even coverage. Prepare molds by cleaning, waxing, and inspecting for defects. Hand Lay-Up Cut and prepare fiberglass mat, cloth, and other reinforcement materials. Wet out and roll laminate layers by hand to remove air pockets. Follow lay-up schedules and instructions for part specifications. Spray Lay-Up Operate chopper guns or spray systems to apply resin and fiberglass simultaneously. Monitor spray patterns, thickness, and resin-to-glass ratios. Maintain equipment and ensure proper settings for consistent output. General Shop Duties Mix resins, catalysts, and gelcoats according to recommended ratios. Trim, sand, and finish cured parts as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all PPE and safety procedures when handling chemicals, sprays, and cutting tools. Assist with mold prep, part release, and minor repairs. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Experience with gel-coating, hand lay-up, or spray lay-up in an FRP/composites environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Understanding of resin systems, catalysts, and cure times. Comfort using hand tools (rollers, scissors, sanders, knives, etc.). Preferred Qualifications Experience with chopper gun operation or gelcoat spray equipment. Knowledge of mold prep and part finishing. Familiarity with fiberglass materials and safe handling procedures. Prior work in marine, industrial, manufacturing, or construction composites. CCT or other composite training certification a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Soft Skills Strong attention to detail. Reliability and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Willingness to learn additional FRP processes. Interest in taking on more responsibility over time. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical shop work. Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and perform other physically demanding movements on a regular basis. Compensation:
