4600C St SW Cedar Rapids, IA The Job You Will Perform:
PURPOSE The Technical Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Area Process Manager with the leadership, coordination and technical expertise to support and optimize the day-to-day operations of the mill.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The key accountabilities listed below are not to be considered all-inclusive; a team member may be required to perform additional tasks, as directed, and based on changing business needs of the company. Support Area Safety and Environmental Results. Lead process problem solving and process optimization to improve OME and Machine Performance. Support Chemical Suppliers and Manage Chemical Trials and Optimization. Investigate Customer Issues and Machine trials as assigned Support Mill's Process Control Team to assure QCS and DCS controls are maintained and optimized. Support the Area Team and Reliability Group in Reliability Investigations and Timely Completion of RCFA Action Items. Support Area 5S Goals Support the Mill ME Group to identify and implement Cost Reduction Projects. Participate in the development and execution of capital projects. Assist Area Manager and Area Learning Leader in Operator Training and Certification.The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Technical education consisting of BS or higher in chemical or mechanical engineering, pulp and paper technology, or equivalent experience. Minimum of five (5) years of operational experience in pulp and paper. Active participation in safety, labor relations, problem solving and other committee/team activities. Hands-on experience in education/training, maintenance planning and scheduling with high degree of computer skills. Direct involvement with customer service related to product and service. Green Belt Certification desirable. Preferred Demonstrated leadership skills combined with technical knowledge and operations experience in pulp and paper manufacturing processes. Excellent written, verbal, presentation and listening skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills. Strong technical knowledge related to the manufacturing process. Problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage and/or lead projects and teams of people. Proven leadership ability in guiding a customer-focused organization to meet its business objectives.Similar remote jobs
