Process Operator (Night Shift)
  • Teutopolis, IL Compensation:
    Starting wage range is $20.00
  • $24.00 per hour depending on experience. Double time pay for time worked on Sundays. Paid Time Off available after 7 days. Overtime premiums paid over 40 hours worked in a week. Bonus based on financial performance of the company. We offer competitive pay and benefits

Hours:
7pm-7am including weekends with overtime as needed after completion of training. Twelve-hour shifts allow for 7 days worked, 7 days off in a 14-day period!
Summary:
The main responsibilities of a Siemer Specialty Ingredients (SSI) Process Operator include: Modifying wheat-based products using heat and steam for predetermined periods of time to meet customer specifications. Perform moisture and viscosity tests during production to ensure that specifications are being met. After production of product, transfer product from storage bins to appropriate storage container to meet customer specifications. Maintain and clean equipment, collect micro samples, and clean SSI Plants.
Qualifications:
Individual must excel in respect, trust and responsibility, striving for continuous improvement, commitment to excellence. Must have basic Microsoft Office computer skills, ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy, and ability to handle the moderately technical area of handling machinery involved in the processing area. Ability to analyze complex situations and make confident decisions. We require excellent skills in verbal communication, follow-through, teamwork and organization, the ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing. Must have high school diploma or GED required, with the ability to read, write and perform mathematics. Thermal heating and steam handling experience is preferred, but not required; training will be provided. Must be able to frequently utilize stairs in a seven (7) story plant, climb seven (7) foot ladders and maneuver uneven terrain, to withstand hot temperatures. Have ability to lift weights of fifty (50). Must be able and willing to work multiple, rotating shifts. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
