Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Treatment Plant Operator to oversee the daily operations of our wastewater treatment facility. Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of treatment plant operators, ensuring efficient operation of wastewater and water treatment equipment Operate and monitor complex systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to regulate treatment processes Conduct routine inspections, data collection, and analysis to maintain environmental compliance and optimize plant performance Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of industrial pumps, water treatment equipment, and heavy machinery Oversee safety procedures by enforcing proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to safety regulations, and conducting safety training sessions Manage heavy equipment operation including tanker trucks for chemical delivery or sludge removal as needed Maintain detailed records of operations, maintenance activities, and compliance reports for regulatory agencies Experience Proven experience working in a wastewater treatment plant or water utility environment with a strong understanding of wastewater systems and water treatment processes Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and water treatment equipment operation Knowledge of industrial pump operation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting techniques Familiarity with environmental regulations related to wastewater treatment and water utility distribution Demonstrated ability to analyze data accurately using math skills and analysis techniques to optimize plant operations Prior experience working in the energy & utilities sector is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, and routine maintenance tasks safely and efficiently Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions Join us as a Lead Treatment Plant Operator if you're ready to lead a dedicated team in delivering vital water services while advancing your career in a dynamic environment committed to environmental excellence!
