Job Description
Surfacing Operator, 2nd Shift Schott North America United States, Massachusetts, Southbridge 15 Wells Street (Show on map) Sep 05, 2026 About us Our Business Unit Lighting and Imaging offers smart solutions for light delivery and image transmission in demanding environments

- Operates a variety of cutting, generating grinding polishing, cleaning equipment and performs related job functions.
- Operates one or more cutting, generating, grinding, polishing or cleaning equipment according to written process specifications, as well as to production standards.
- Performs in-process visual and mechanical inspections; initiates corrective action or informs Group Leader or Supervisor of deviations from standards.
- Performs TPM on required equipment, updates sheets as necessary.
- Performs setups, start ups/shut downs and makes adjustments to machines.
- Completes labor sheets, routers, log sheets, process forms and similar reports and forms.
- Assists in the training of less qualified operators.
- Maintains housekeeping practices per departmental 5S program.
- Able to meet utilization targets and standard times.
- Accurately enters Database/SAP transactions in the computer.
- Maintains daily records, including labor sheets and routers.
- Responsible for observing and following all Environmental, Health and Safety rules and procedures Your Profile
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Knowledge of gauging and measuring equipment preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and results oriented.
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.
Hourly Pay Ranges:
Level C ($19.00
- 21.50); Level B ($22.00
- 24.50); Level A ($25.00
