POLYMER PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN - WEEKENDS ONLY

- Full-time Fri-Sun 5:00am-6:30 pm The Polymer Production Technician performs hands-on composite fabrication, repair, mold preparation, and material handling activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role builds and repairs fiberglass components, prepares molds, handles composite materials, and works closely with team members to ensure finished products meet required specifications, quality standards, and production timelines. Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on damaged or defective fiberglass parts, ensuring correct thickness, density, and contours.
• Select precut fiberglass mats, cloth, and wood-bracing materials based on part requirements.
• Prepare molds by applying, buffing, and removing wax, sealers, and release agents.
• Handle chemicals, solvents, and composite materials safely while trimming excess materials from molds.
• Read, interpret, and follow instructions, service manuals, and basic mathematical requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production timelines.
• Apply strong time-management and communication skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Maintain close attention to detail to ensure parts and repairs meet required specifications.
• Follow established safety procedures during all fabrication, repair, and material-handling activities. Required Qualifications
• Minimum age of 18.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read service manuals and follow repair instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to plan work ahead.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and complete tasks thoroughly.
• Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform basic math.
• Ability to handle chemicals and solvents safely.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced production environment.
• Safety-conscious work habits. Preferred Qualifications
• Reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience laying up fiberglass parts for lamination.
• Organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
• Two to three years of experience in trade skills such as carpentry, mechanics, or finishing.
• Knowledge of composite materials and processes including carbon fiber, fiberglass, resin infusion, vacuum bagging, and mold preparation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude. Physical Requirements
• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and perform inspections.
• Ability to ascend and descend vertical ladders, stand and walk for extended periods, work at heights, work in hot or cold environments, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, perform repetitive movements, and occasionally carry heavy objects.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, walk, stoop, crouch, and sit.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions, bending, and twisting.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, respirators, gloves, protective clothing, and other required gear.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
