Job Description

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
General Must possess good working knowledge of plant equipment in the assigned production unit. Must possess good understanding of the operation and processes in the assigned production unit. Must understand the full work flow of the unit, from a supply chain prospective, to the manufacturing of batches and troubleshooting of equipment and sequences. Must understand and follow all safety and operating procedures. Maintains daily logs and records as instructed. Assists in training newer operators. Must show understanding of PID/PFD of assigned production unit. Must understand basic chemistry for products made in assigned production unit. Maintains plant cleanliness to Coim's housekeeping standards. Recognizes and documents "abnormal" operating conditions with proper response including immediate notification of supervision. Perform physical Cycle Count. Dispose of empty used containers and waste containers Use of hand tools to dissassemble/reassemble equipment for the purpose of troubleshooting and minor repairs. Raw materials Must show proficiency in Navision navigation and RM receipt transactions. Unload bulk raw materials and intermediates from trucks to storage or packages. Proper operation of transfer controls, PLC systems, pneumatic, and electrical equipment for the offloading of raw materials. Sampling of incoming raw materials. Identifications and preparation of re-work and partial containers in ovens for upcoming batches. Charge Reactors Possess good working knowledge of batch-calc and PLC, including log page and recipe pages entries for tracking of raw material and packing procedures. Load raw material in the polyol blend tank and product tank through PLC, Drums or totes. Full knowledge of the PLC to start reactor loading, from the preparation of raw materials, to the reaction and distillation. Perform Navision transactions through Production Orders to consume raw materials used in the batch Using the proper check list to track raw material charges. Good knowledge of distillation process and adjustments of parameters. Reactions Setting parameters on the PLC for the batch. Good knowledge and reading of batchcalc operations. Monitoring PLC and reactor parameters and status. Judge and perform adjustment to the batch. Reading batchcalc to determinate and add re-work or partials to the batch. Make adjustments based on Bottoms sample results (Adjusting temperature or vacuum and troubleshooting results) Identify "abnormal" reaction trends and interface with management to solve problems in short and long term basis. Finish Good Reading batch and operating instructions associated for the preparation of packaging of finished products. Retaining sample for package and product tanks. Full understanding and usage of the
SCADA PLC
in order to start up package. Re-package finish good for customer's shipments. Check of the theoretical yield from the actual yield of the batches and investigate discrepancy. Proper preparation of package material (labels, tight the bung and cap, clean drums and pails) and store it in the proper building. Performs other duties as assigned. Safety Attend all company sponsored safety training programs. Follow Environmental and Hygiene procedures and roles. Promote safety behavior and initiatives proactively
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE/ SKILLSET
Position requires a HS diploma or GED. 5-year min exp as a batch process operator in the chemical field. Maintains a black seal boiler license. Forklift Operation. Ottawa/Yard truck Operation (•optional). Good working knowledge of Microsoft systems, particularly Outlook and Excel. Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Must possess good mechanical aptitude Physical Requirements Wear protective or safety equipment such as a respirator as needed. Walking between departments, using stairs and climbing ladders. Bending and lifting up to 50lbs manually and unassisted. The Prepolymer Production Operator (WD-LF) will perform all tasks essential in the preparation, manufacturing, and storage of finished products and raw materials utilizing reactors, storage tanks, pumps and other equipment specific to Coim's manufacturing units. •This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization; applicants must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. for any company
