Position Overview Join our production team in a dynamic, fast-paced plant environment! As a Part-Time Production Technician, you will play a vital role in processing garments and household textiles (such as clothing, blankets, rugs, and draperies). You'll handle key steps in the cleaning pipeline—from sorting and washing to inspecting and organizing incoming orders—ensuring items meet our quality standards while supporting overall workflow.

Core Responsibilities Sorting & Preparation:

Sort, classify, and organize incoming orders by lot, color, and order sequence. Identify fabric types to determine appropriate handling.

Cleaning & Washing:

Operate professional washing and dry-cleaning equipment to clean and dry garments and household items safely.

Finishing & Inspection:

Perform garment finishing using pressing equipment and hand irons. Inspect finished items, check for missing buttons, and manage minor repairs like mending or reattaching hardware.

Assembly & Expediting:

Load inspected items onto automated assembly conveyors to keep items moving efficiently through the plant.

Maintenance & Cleanliness:

Perform routine operator maintenance on assigned machinery and keep your immediate workspace clean and organized.

Teamwork & Flexibility:

Cross-train across multiple Production Technician roles, follow lot sequence schedules, and collaborate closely with team members and leadership. Communicate any machinery issues or workflow delays to the Production Team Leader immediately.

Qualifications & Skills Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Prior garment production or textile handling experience is preferred.

Color Vision & Motor Skills:

Ability to distinguish color variations accurately and handle garments with care to avoid damage.

Fabric Knowledge:

Understanding of different fabric types and their general processing needs.

Mindset:

Strong work ethic, openness to constructive feedback, and comfort with repetitive tasks.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Physical Endurance:

Ability to stand for the duration of a shift and perform continuous physical labor.

Environment:

Plant temperatures fluctuate (warm in the summer, cool in the winter). The work area includes active machinery, cleaning chemicals, and moving equipment.

Pay:

Up to $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
