Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the sterilization, decontamination, and proper handling of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Your expertise will support infection prevention efforts, maintain compliance with sterilization standards, and ensure the safety of patients and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures, medical terminology, and infection control protocols to uphold the highest standards of healthcare safety. Duties Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and other medical equipment in accordance with established protocols. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile instruments with precision to ensure readiness for surgical procedures. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and timely reordering. Reprocess endoscopes and specialized medical devices following manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation. Implement infection prevention measures by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control policies throughout all processing steps. Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure all instruments are properly prepared for upcoming procedures. Conduct routine quality checks on sterilization equipment to verify proper functioning and compliance. Support training initiatives by mentoring new staff on sterilization procedures and safety protocols. Skills Extensive knowledge of sterile processing practices including medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization techniques. Proficiency in inventory management systems to track supplies and maintain optimal stock levels. Strong understanding of human physiology and anatomy relevant to surgical procedures and instrument handling. Expertise in infection prevention management, including aseptic technique and healthcare infection control standards. Experience with medical equipment sterilization methods such as autoclaving, chemical sterilants, and endoscope reprocessing. Familiarity with medical terminology, surgical instrument handling, and medical equipment operation. Ability to adhere strictly to infection control policies while maintaining high attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills coupled with effective communication abilities to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Pay:
