1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift Job Description We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support a busy acute-care hospital environment in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sterile processing, instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and endoscope reprocessing. The position requires a highly skilled professional who can work across multiple service lines and maintain strict standards for infection prevention, equipment processing, and aseptic technique. Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience
  • Experience in an acute hospital or operating room environment
  • Experience working in a Level II or Level I Trauma facility
  • CBSPD or CRCST certification through HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM)
  • Strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures and infection prevention standards
  • Experience with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking systems
  • Experience with Epic is preferred
  • Strong experience with decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and sterile storage
  • Experience with flexible endoscope reprocessing Key Responsibilities
  • Perform decontamination and disinfection of surgical instruments and medical equipment
  • Manually clean instruments and operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, and sterilizers
  • Assemble surgical instruments and trays across multiple specialties
  • Organize trays and ensure proper selection and use of wrapping materials
  • Perform sterilization using steam and STERRAD processes
  • Perform and document biological and chemical indicator testing
  • Follow sterilization testing and monitoring procedures
  • Perform immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) when required
  • Reprocess flexible endoscopes and specialty scopes
  • Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and automated endoscope reprocessing
  • Process equipment and instruments used across multiple surgical specialties
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation of instruments and supplies
  • Maintain sterile storage areas and ensure supplies are properly stored
  • Track instruments and equipment using Censitrac
  • Prepare and deliver sterile instrumentation to procedural areas
  • Support operating room teams by ensuring required instruments and equipment are available
  • Assist with processing equipment used for robotic, orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurological, ENT, ophthalmology, OB/GYN, urology, vascular, transplant, and other procedures
  • Process specialized equipment including surgical drills and robotic equipment
  • Maintain accurate equipment and processing documentation
  • Follow all infection prevention, safety, and department policies
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced healthcare environment Additional Information
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts are available.
  • Floating to other nearby locations may be required.
  • Travel experience is not required.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-volume, Level I/II trauma hospital environment.
  • Strong experience across all areas of sterile processing is highly preferred, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, endoscope reprocessing, sterile storage, and OR liaison support.
Pay:
$1,450.00 - $1,460.00 per week
