WIN Waste Innovations is looking for a Lead Environmental Technician. This person will be responsible for the safety and production of the Hydrogen Sulfide Treatment Plant, Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS), and Leachate Collection System (LCS) systems as required by Local, County, State and Federal regulations. The successful candidate will coordinate and supervise daily operations and oversee the maintenance of all treatment systems and associated equipment.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of Environmental TechniciansDevelop and implement safety policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the safe, efficient, and secure operation of the chemical treatment plant, and associated systemsOversee and manage the daily operations of the plant, GCCS, LCS and ensure that all processes are running efficiently and meeting safety and regulatory requirementsEnsure the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and materials, and train workers in safety techniquesMonitor equipment and machinery for proper functioning and frequent maintenance and repair as necessaryTroubleshoot any operational issuesTraining technicians on proper operating proceduresMonitoring emission and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirementsConduct safety training and daily huddlesMaintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.
Requirements:
An Associate Degree (or higher) in a field related to environmental sciences, engineering, or chemistryA minimum of five years of experience in operation and maintenance of a chemical treatment plantEquivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal educationExperience in mechanical and electrical diagnosticsStrong organization and problem-solving skillsHas experience using field testing equipment, meters and various sampling equipmentHas experience in the use of hand, power and pneumatic toolsExperience in reading and interpreting operating manuals, schematics, and drawingPLC, SCADA, and other controls experienceHas experience working on blowers and electric motors, pneumatic and electric pumpsSafety orientedPhysical Demands include but is not limited to:
Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skillsReach with hands and armsClimb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feetAscend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders as part of normal work activity and emergency egress situationsLift moderate to heavy material 50 lbs. Move about all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, wet and muddy areas, and uneven surfaces.
Operate other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile equipmentAbility to quickly and effectively respond to unusual conditions or situationsAbility to work in all weather conditionsPerform additional duties as assigned
