Contract-to-Hire (6-Month Conversion Path) About the Opportunity A globally recognized chemical and materials manufacturer is expanding its ABS compounding and extrusion operation at a modern, purpose-built facility in Ravenna, Ohio. This is a process-oriented environment running sophisticated twin-screw extrusion equipment, where operators are trained across multiple functions and given real ownership of their process. Strong performers convert to direct employment and move into expanded roles. What You'll Do Operate twin-screw extrusion and compounding equipment through full startup, run, and shutdown sequences Execute customer-specific compounding recipes — accurately weighing and combining resins, pigments, fillers, additives, and flame retardants to specification Monitor process parameters via control panel; make adjustments to maintain spec and production quality Perform changeovers, purges, and extruder component cleaning between production runs Conduct in-process quality inspections, take samples, and document results in production logs and control systems Load and stage raw materials using forklift or tow motor; manage hopper feeds and bulk material handling Identify and communicate equipment or process abnormalities; perform basic troubleshooting Cross-train across mixing, blending, batching, and material logistics functions as directed by supervision What You'll Need 1+ year(s) of manufacturing experience in a machine-operation or process-operator role Background in any of the following is highly relevant: extrusion, compounding, injection molding, rotational molding, mixing/blending/batching, chemical manufacturing, wire and cable, rubber processing, or polymer/resin manufacturing Ability to follow detailed written recipes, production orders, and quality specifications, accuracy matters Basic mechanical aptitude, can recognize when equipment is off, perform adjustments, and communicate issues Experience performing quality checks, inspections, or documentation in a production environment Forklift or tow-motor experience preferred; certification is a plus but not required Basic computer comfort for production order systems and record-keeping Demonstrated reliability — steady tenure and consistent attendance history are taken seriously in this evaluation Why This Role Stands Out This is a real process-operator role at a modern global facility with a genuine conversion path and cross-training culture — not a temp-to-nowhere packaging position.
