Job Description

C.U.E., Inc. is a world leader in cast urethane products with more than 60 years of urethane molding expertise, providing high-quality custom molded urethane products at competitive prices. The Process Technicians monitor all polyurethane casting processes to ensure proper controls/procedures are maintained, establishes/implements new controls/procedures as necessary, trains plant personnel in machine operation and best practices, assists with process and / or machine troubleshooting. Job is detail-orientated, machinery-focused, and requires excellent documentation skills as well as frequent communication in both written and verbal form with personnel both internal and external to the company.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Be responsible for the proper set up, troubleshooting, and operation of cast polyurethane dispensing (casting) machines throughout the facility; Dispensing machine changeover to alternate materials; Train machine operator(s) on the proper operation of dispensing machines; Colaborate with personnel on machine troubleshooting; Work toward continuous improvement of existing processes and process controls; Apply working knowledge of dispensing machine design/operation and other auxiliary equipment to assist in process equipment specification, installation, troubleshooting and training; Training casting machine operators and poly assistants (molding personnel) and monitor their adherence to established processes and processing techniques; Monitor machine operators during the blending of their curative/catalyst mixes; Manage the calibration of casting machine flowmeters according to their yearly calibration schedule; Abide by company workplace guidelines and adhere to Safety, ISO, and Environmental policies; Maintain process records including daily process/calibration sheets as well as detailed documentation of process history/issues and R&D efforts; Review production records on an ongoing basis and provide reports/documentation as needed; Other duties as assigned which fall within the skill requirements of the job.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION / SPECIALIZED TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent combination of post-high school training and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Experience with operating and troubleshooting polyurethane dispensing machines, especially modern Baule machines.
  • Experience troubleshooting flowmeters and PLCs.
  • Moderate Microsoft Excel.
  • Acquired knowledge of chemical, process, process controls, materials/chemicals, and casting machine design/function/operation.
