Job DescriptionJob Summary

The Chemical Operator Lead oversees the blending and bottling of laboratory supply reagents, ensuring products are manufactured safely, accurately, and in accordance with quality standards and production schedules. This role issues daily assignments to the bottling team based on sales orders and the 120 Report, prioritizing work to support on-time delivery and customer requirements. The Lead directs daily site activities within the bottling operation, coordinates workflow and resources, monitors production progress, and ensures adherence to established procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The position also provides guidance and support to bottling personnel, addresses operational issues, maintains accurate production documentation, and collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient and timely completion of lab supply orders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead daily blending and bottling activities for the Lab Supply area, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and according to established proceduresReview sales orders and the 120 Report to determine production priorities and issue daily assignments to the bottling groupDirect the flow of production to support efficient operations and on-time delivery of laboratory supply reagentsCoordinate staffing, equipment, materials, and workflow to meet daily production schedules and customer requirementsMonitor blending and bottling operations to ensure proper quantities, product specifications, labeling, packaging, and documentation are followedVerify production records, batch documentation, inventory usage, and other required paperwork for accuracy and completenessProvide guidance, training, and work direction to bottling personnel while promoting accountability, teamwork, and consistent performanceIdentify, communicate, and help resolve production, equipment, material, quality, or scheduling issuesOperate and direct the safe use of equipment, in accordance with site procedures and applicable safety requirementsFollow all chemical handling, personal protective equipment, respirator, and workplace safety requirementsEnsure the work area is maintained in a clean, organized, and compliant conditionCommunicate production status, delays, material needs, and operational concerns to leadership and other appropriate departmentsUse computer systems to access orders, update production information, complete records, and support scheduling and reporting requirementsWork overtime as needed to support production demands and customer delivery commitments

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education & Experience:

RequiredHigh school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificateThree to five years of relevant experience in batch chemical blending or formulation involving hazardous materialsDemonstrated proficiency with SAP or a comparable enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemPreferredAssociate degree from an accredited two-year college or technical schoolFive (5) or more years of experience in batch chemical blending or formulation involving hazardous materialsFive (5) or more years of experience performing analytical testingFive (5) or more years of experience in shift leadership or production team supervisionTraining and experience serving as an
