Job Description

We have a new opportunity for a Chemical Spray Dryer Operator in Mountain Top, PA. Our company, American Custom Drying, has been in business for more than 50 years. We provide contract manufacturing and toll processing services for the food and chemical industries. ACD specializes in custom spray drying, powder blending and milling. Position Overview The Spray Dryer Chemical Operator will operate equipment used in the production of powder via a spray drying process. Operator will work with a shift supervisor and help manage material handlers. Individual must be able to work with minimum direction and be familiar with manufacturing processes. Their goal is to ensure that the production process runs safely and smoothly and produces quality products that meet customer specifications. Job Functions Operator will oversee all production activities and assure that they are conducted in a safe manner. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Specific job functions include:
Follow procedures for system start-up, operation, shutdown, cleaning, and batching Mixing chemical and food batches, monitoring and sampling in accordance with SOPs Recording process and production data Troubleshooting dryer processes (work closely with Supervisors and Engineers in troubleshooting problems) Assisting with routine maintenance and maintaining a clean work environment. Overseeing cleanup of entire dryer system between products Qualifications Must be able to lift 55 pounds, climb ladders and stair Experience in manufacturing - operating or material handling Must possess a valid driver's license Experience with PLCs Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including wet mixing or batching Knowledge of clean rooms and cGMP Ability to work off-shifts, overtime, and/or weekends
