Sterile Processing We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician I to join a high-volume healthcare support team in Philadelphia. This position is responsible for ensuring surgical instruments, medical devices, and supplies are properly cleaned, assembled, sterilized, and prepared for patient care. Responsibilities Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment. Follow manufacturer instructions for use (IFUs), infection-prevention practices, and department policies. Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets accurately for multiple procedural areas. Operate sterilization equipment and complete required quality-control documentation. Track instrumentation and supplies using electronic inventory or instrument-tracking systems. Identify damaged, missing, or malfunctioning instruments and escalate concerns appropriately. Maintain clean, organized workspaces and sterile storage areas. Support daily workflow priorities while meeting quality and turnaround-time expectations. Follow all safety procedures when handling contaminated instruments, sharps, and chemicals. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Prior sterile processing, central service, surgical, hospital, or healthcare experience preferred. CRCST through HSPA or CSPDT through CBSPD preferred. Non-certified candidates may be considered if willing to obtain certification within the required timeframe. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Basic computer and documentation skills.
