Secret Position Summary The Computer Operator II (Part-Time On-Call) supports scheduled computer operations, data collection, and data entry activities within a secure government IT or test environment. This position processes routine operations that may present occasional operating challenges and applies established procedures to ensure continuity of system operations. Work is performed under general supervision and in accordance with approved standard operating procedures and security requirements. Responsibilities- Process scheduled computer routines, batch jobs, and production tasks in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Monitor system consoles, servers, and peripheral equipment for proper operation and performance.
- Collect, verify, and accurately enter operational, system, or test-related data into designated databases and tracking systems.
- Maintain logs, operational records, and system documentation to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Generate routine reports and summaries from collected data as required.
- Respond to computer output instructions or error conditions using standard operating or corrective procedures.
- Troubleshoot infrequent or routine error conditions and escalate issues that do not respond to preplanned procedures.
- Support data backup processes and assist with data recovery activities when required.
- Assist senior operators or system administrators as directed and may serve as an assistant operator under general supervision.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, data handling procedures, and clearance requirements.
- Support surge operations, test events, or mission requirements on an on-call basis. Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in computer operations, data entry, or IT support environment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow written procedures and maintain accuracy in data collection and entry.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
