Job Description:
Sterile Processing Technician needed for a 13-week travel contract in Olympia, WA. This is a night shift, Monday-Friday, 5x8 schedule (9:00 PM-4:30 AM) with no weekends or call . Candidates need at least 1 year of SPT experience (2 years preferred) and CBSPD or CRCST certification . First-time travelers are accepted. Experience with acute-care OR sterile processing, decontamination, HLD, instrument/tray assembly, case carts, sterilization, and specialty surgical equipment is required.
Responsibilities:
Perform sterile processing functions in an acute-care hospital/OR environment. Decontaminate, disinfect, clean, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. Assemble sets, trays, and case carts according to surgical requirements. Perform High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and operate washers/sterilizers. Select appropriate wrapping materials and perform proper sterilization wrapping. Monitor and document sterilization processes using biological and chemical indicators . Perform steam sterilization testing/monitoring and Immediate-Use Steam Sterilization (IUSS). Process specialty equipment for ENT, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Urology . Clean and process equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps. Maintain accurate equipment documentation and follow hospital infection-control and sterile-processing procedures.
Requirements:
1+ year of Sterile Processing Technician experience required ; 2 years preferred. CBSPD or CRCST required. Experience in an acute hospital/OR setting preferred. Local candidates not accepted; 50-mile rule applies.
