In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing, programming, and setting up CNC machines to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure that machining processes run smoothly, efficiently, and accurately, contributing to the overall quality and success of our manufacturing operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about machining technology and dedicated to maintaining high standards of craftsmanship. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to create precise machining instructions. Set up CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machining tools with appropriate tooling and fixtures. Conduct machine setup procedures including calibration, tooling installation, and zeroing to ensure optimal operation. Perform precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments for quality control. Monitor machining processes during production runs to detect issues and make adjustments as needed for accuracy. Conduct CNC quality inspections to verify parts meet specifications and tolerances according to GD&T standards. Troubleshoot mechanical or programming issues related to CNC equipment and implement corrective actions promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Assist in manual machining tasks such as turning or grinding when required for complex or custom parts. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as lathes, mills, or grinders in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with Mazatrol is a plus. Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of mechanical blueprint interpretation and mechanical systems. Experience with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming software for toolpath generation. Ability to use precision measuring instruments like micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and dial indicators accurately. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including metal machining, manual machining techniques, and assembly procedures. Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.
