About the Role Code Four is a vertically integrated event production, experiential marketing, and grand-format graphics company. We print, cut, fabricate, and finish large-format graphics, signage, displays, vehicle wraps, and custom scenic for events and brands. This is a small shop. The primary job is the Zünd — that work has to get done right and on time. The same person will also print, laminate, mount, finish, and help wherever the floor needs a hand. You will talk with the rest of the team about jobs, sequence, and timing so work moves through the shop without surprises.
The Priority:
Zünd CNC This hire lives on the cutter first. We are looking for someone who already knows a Zünd, not someone who will learn it on our dime. Set up, operate, and own day-to-day production on a Zünd digital cutting / routing table. Import and prep cut files (Zünd Cut Center / related workflow). Nest jobs, assign tools, set depths, speeds, and offsets. Change modules, blades, bits, and routers. Kiss-cut, through-cut, crease, V-cut, and route as the job requires. Load and register printed sheets, boards, vinyl, foam, acrylic, ACM, corrugated, and similar substrates accurately on the bed. Hold tight tolerances. Check first-offs. Catch registration, depth, and material issues before they become scrap. Perform daily cleaning, basic preventative maintenance, and first-line troubleshooting to keep the table running. Print Shop General Hand The cutter is first. It is not the only job. When the table is clear, or the floor is slammed, you jump in: Operate grand / wide-format printers and assist with print production as needed. Laminate, mount, trim, weed, mask, and finish graphics. Build and pack signs, banners, rigid displays, decals, and event graphics. Read job tickets, stage materials, move product, and keep the shop clean and organized. Coordinate with production, prepress, and the floor on job status, sequence, and timing so the next person is not waiting on you. What You Bring Required — Hands-on expert experience operating a Zünd digital cutter. This is required, not preferred. Comfortable as a well-rounded shop hand in a grand-format / sign / graphics production environment. Working knowledge of wide-format print, lamination, mounting, vinyl, and rigid substrates. Able to read job tickets, measure accurately, and catch quality problems without being asked. Clear communicator with the rest of the shop on what is running, what is next, and when a job will be ready.
Basic file literacy:
Illustrator / PDF cut paths, RIP output, or the ability to work clean files from prepress. Safe around blades, routers, forklifts/pallet jacks, and large sheets. Can lift 40-50 lbs and stand a full shift. Flexible schedule. Event and show work means nights and weekends when the job requires it — not optional when a deadline is on the board. Nice to Have Zünd Cut Center proficiency; experience with Kongsberg, Colex, Multicam, or similar tables. UV / latex / solvent grand-format press time (EFI, Durst, HP, or similar). Vehicle wrap, rigid display fabrication, or event scenic finishing experience. Forklift certification. Schedule, Pay & How to Apply Full-time, on-site at our Huntington Beach shop. Core hours during the week, with a flexible schedule when production demands it — including nights and weekends for event, show, and rush work. Compensation based on proven Zünd experience. To apply, send a short note on your Zünd experience (machine model, years, materials you cut/routed) plus a resume to Jobs@codefour.com.
