Job Description

Volt is hiring for a CNC Operator I - 2nd Shift position with a leading aerospace manufacturing company in Long Beach, CA. As a CNC Operator I, you will: Job Description
  • Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Support the operation of multiple 3 axis and 5 axis CNC machining centers
  • Monitor machining cycles to maintain continuous production
  • Assist with machine setups, raw material loading and removal of completed parts
  • Machine aerospace components made from aluminum, titanium, Inconel and steel
  • Follow manufacturing documentation and verify setups for accuracy
  • Inspect tooling using micrometers, calipers and other measurement equipment
  • Perform basic dimensional inspections on machined components
  • Change cutters and tooling as needed
  • Perform basic edge break and deburring operations
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as required
  • Maintain coolant levels, filters, chip bins and general CNC work center cleanliness
  • Record production activity using ERP systems and job travelers
  • Follow established aerospace quality and safety standards This is a full time opportunity. 5 days a week. 8+ hours per day. Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic CNC G code experience required
  • Previous CNC machine operation experience
  • Cal OSHA forklift certification
  • Ability to use basic shop tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Fanuc control experience preferred
  • Makino Pro5 or Pro6 control experience preferred
  • CNC technical education preferred
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift and move approximately 25-40 lbs
  • Strong attention to quality, safety and accuracy
  • Candidate must be a U.
S. Person as defined under applicable ITAR regulations
Schedule:
3:30 pm - 12:00 pm
Days:
Monday through Friday and occasionally overtime on
Saturday Pay Rate:
$19.00-$28.00 per hour
  • Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
