Duties Set up and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and adjust parameters for optimal performance. Read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise machining. Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions. Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, including electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools, to maintain peak operation. Select and install appropriate tooling and tooling fixtures for various machining tasks. Conduct quality checks throughout the manufacturing process using precision tools to guarantee parts meet specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to lean manufacturing principles for efficiency. Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or setup tasks. Follow safety protocols diligently when working with plastics injection molding equipment or during welding operations. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages like Fanuc or similar control systems. Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or general blueprint reading skills. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining processes, tooling setups, and basic math skills for calculations. Experience working with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of GD&T standards to interpret complex technical drawings accurately. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced production settings involving plastics injection molding or welding tasks. Certifications related to machine operation or safety are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
