Job Title:
Manufacturing Technician Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Technician with strong mechanical aptitude to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC equipment and related production machinery while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate enjoys working with machines, solving mechanical problems, using precision measuring tools, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Operate and monitor CNC mills, lathes, and other production equipment to manufacture precision components. Assist with machine setups, tooling changes, machine offsets, and production changeovers. Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to verify quality and dimensional accuracy. Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues with machines and equipment and make necessary adjustments. Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and uptime. Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic equipment repairs as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings. Safely operate multiple machines and processes while maintaining production schedules. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Collaborate with engineers, machinists, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to resolve technical issues and meet production goals. Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards. Required Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how machines, tools, and production equipment function. Experience in manufacturing, machining, mechanical assembly, maintenance, fabrication, or a related industrial environment. Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes of production problems. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Basic blueprint reading and understanding of manufacturing processes. Ability to perform machine setups, tooling changes, and minor machine adjustments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment. Comfortable working around automated equipment, CNC machines, and manufacturing systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or other automated manufacturing equipment. Familiarity with Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar machine controls. Understanding of preventative maintenance practices and mechanical troubleshooting. Experience with machining, fabrication, assembly, or industrial maintenance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
