Job Description

Westaff is hiring CNC Operator / Machinist in the Meriden, CT area

Hours:

multiple shifts available

Pay:

based on experience Key Responsibilities of a CNC Operator /

Machinist:

Sets up, operates, and adjusts mold and/or manual machining equipment used in plastics manufacturing. Works closely with leads, mechanics, and production staff to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes. Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications to determine machining requirements. Performs precision machining of components, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. Conducts routine inspections of parts using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges). Performs machine changeovers, tool offsets, and minor programming edits when necessary. Skills and Qualifications of a CNC Operator /

Machinist:

High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school training is a plus. Minimum 6 months machining experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read blueprints, interpret measurements, and follow detailed instructions.

Experience using precision measurement tools:
