We're looking for an experienced CNC Operator / Machinist to run mills and/or lathes on our second shift. The right person takes ownership of part quality and production, recognizes machining problems early, and can work with limited supervision. Setup experience is strongly preferred. What you'll do Operate CNC mills and/or lathes using job travelers, drawings, and work instructions. Read mechanical drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and applicable GD&T requirements. Inspect parts during production using calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and other appropriate measuring tools. Assist with or perform setups according to your experience, including selecting and loading tools, installing fixtures and workholding, verifying material, and checking first pieces. Make approved tool changes and offsets. Recognize tool wear, dimensional drift, finish issues, and machine alarms; troubleshoot within your training and escalate issues promptly. Deburr and handle parts carefully to meet quality and cleanliness requirements. Record production activity, inspection results, and job information accurately for traceability. Keep machines and work areas clean and organized, and follow shop safety procedures. What we're looking for At least 2 years of CNC machining or related manufacturing experience. Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes and inspecting parts to drawing requirements. Ability to read mechanical drawings and use basic shop math. Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and the ability to work with limited supervision on second shift. High school diploma or GED.
Strongly preferred:
Hands-on CNC setup experience, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and troubleshooting. Experience machining close-tolerance aerospace or medical parts is a plus. Familiarity with G-code or CAM programming is welcome but is not required. This position involves standing for much of the shift and lifting up to 50 pounds.
