The ideal candidate will have 2-5+ years of hands-on CNC programming and machine operation experience, preferably in a sheet metal environment, with knowledge of AMADA equipment, AP100 programming, SOLIDWORKS, and CAD drawings. This position is responsible for producing high-quality sheet metal components while maintaining safety, efficiency, and production standards. Key Responsibilities CNC Setup & Programming Set up, program, and operate CNC sheet metal fabrication equipment including AMADA laser cutters, turret punch presses, and press brakes. Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and engineering specifications to create accurate machining instructions. Program and modify machine programs using AP100, SOLIDWORKS, and related CAD/CAM software. Select tooling, configure machine settings, and load materials for production. Perform firstpiece inspections and make adjustments to maintain tolerances and quality standards. Machine Operation Operate CNC machinery to fabricate sheet metal parts according to specifications. Monitor machine performance and maximize production efficiency. Troubleshoot programming or machine issues and implement corrective actions. Support lightsout manufacturing and unattended machine operation when applicable. Maintain machine calibration and ensure proper equipment performance. Quality & Production Inspect finished products using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ensure compliance with engineering drawings and production standards. Accurately complete production and quality documentation. Identify defects and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintenance & Safety Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment. Maintain organized work areas and follow all workplace safety requirements and PPE standards. Assist with spare parts recommendations and equipment upkeep. Team Collaboration Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve manufacturing processes. Recommend programming, tooling, and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Support training of operators as needed. Qualifications Required Experience 25+ years of CNC machine setup, operation, and programming experience required. Previous sheet metal fabrication experience strongly preferred (laser, turret punch, press brake, or similar environment). Experience operating and programming AMADA equipment preferred. Experience with AP100 programming software required/preferred. Working knowledge of
SOLIDWORKS, CAD
drawings, and blueprint interpretation required. Strong understanding of tooling, machine setup, and fabrication tolerances. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training, certification, or associate degree in manufacturing, machining, or related field preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently in a fastpaced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the workday. Frequent use of hands and manual dexterity for machine setup and operation. Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, metal materials, and varying temperatures. Overtime or weekend work may be required based on production demands.
