This position requires a skilled machinist who can independently set up CNC lathes and has strong experience with Mazatrol conversational programming . This is not an entry-level CNC operator position. Candidates should have 5+ years of hands-on CNC lathe setup and machining experience and be comfortable working with live tooling, steady rests, and tailstocks.

Shift Experience:

5+ years required Responsibilities Independently set up and operate CNC lathes Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, workholding, and offsets Utilize live tooling for complex machining operations Create, edit, and troubleshoot programs using Mazatrol conversational controls Set up and properly utilize steady rests and tailstocks Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and machining specifications Select appropriate tooling, inserts, speeds, and feeds Make machine and tooling adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy Perform first-piece and in-process inspections Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues Maintain tight tolerances and consistently produce quality parts Complete required production and quality documentation Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures Required Qualifications 5+ years of CNC lathe setup and machining experience Mazatrol conversational programming experience is required Strong experience setting up and operating CNC lathes Experience with live tooling Experience using steady rests and tailstocks Ability to independently perform machine setups and make program adjustments Strong blueprint-reading skills Proficiency with precision measuring equipment Understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, offsets, and machining processes Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a true CNC setup machinist who can take a job from blueprint to finished part. You should be comfortable setting up the machine, programming with Mazatrol conversational controls, selecting tooling, making adjustments, and verifying that completed parts meet specifications.
