At Timken's Aurora Bearing facility, we're adding team members who can learn quickly, operate a variety of machines, and grow into advanced setup responsibilities. Multiple opportunities are open on day and afternoon shifts, and you'll receive on-the-job training with real growth potential. Imagine Your First Week You'll shadow a seasoned operator, learn how each station runs, and practice loading parts, cycling equipment, and checking dimensions. By week's end, you'll be confidently reviewing specifications, executing in-process checks, and understanding how to adjust tooling or parameters to hold tolerance. What You'll Do Operate and adjust a range of production equipment (presses, laser marker, ink jet, electro etch, fit stations, ovens, swage) Run bore grinders, drills, mills, and roll thread to meet print-defined characteristics Set up machines to specified parameters (based on experience) and produce first-piece parts Complete the documentation required to obtain setup approval Perform visual and physical inspections to verify fit, centering, staking, stamping, and markings Use micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to confirm precision Monitor fluid levels and keep machines operating reliably Tools & Technologies You May Use Optical Comparator Surface Grinder Manual Lathe Thread Gauges (GO/NO-GO) Punch Press Press Brake Manual Vertical Mill (Bridgeport) Calipers and Micrometers Laser Punch Press Vertical Lathe OD/ID Grinding Machine Skills & Background High School Diploma or GED Read and understand blueprints Manufacturing and machine operation experience preferred Experience with gages and micrometers preferred Proficiencies that set you apart Equipment Troubleshooting and overall Troubleshooting Skills Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills; Mechanical Assembly Skills Aerospace Manufacturing exposure Precision Measurement & Inspection Machine Setups for Production Runs Meets Physical Requirements High School / GED Excellent Communication Skills Shop Math Skills Experience in a Manufacturing Environment Blueprint Reading Basic Computer Skills Mechanical Aptitude Pay & Schedule Starting wage based on experience: $18.50
