The qualified candidate should have experience running both CNC equipment and manual machines. This is a 40+ hour per week, first shift position (either 4x10 or 5x8) with occasional overtime required based on customer needs. This position reports to the Methods and Process Engineer. Essential Functions and Responsibilities The following are the essential functions of this position. Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area Follows instructions, both verbal and written Operates both manual and CNC machines to produce metal and plastic parts to specification Works closely with and assists current manual and CNC machine operators for troubleshooting and resolution of machine issues Dimensionally verifies conformity of finished work pieces Understands the status of orders and machines and drives them to completion in accordance with the schedule Observes machine operations and adjusts machine controls and offsets as necessary Assists the Programming Engineer in the creation of fixtures Makes process recommendations with the engineering team based on prior experience and best practice Competencies Ability to work alongside, train, and share technical direction with a small team Technical and mechanical aptitude Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings Ability to read, write, and perform shop mathematics Ability to communicate effectively with managers and fellow employees Required Education and Experience Minimum of three years of CNC machining experience Minimum of three years of manual machining experience Equivalent combinations of hands-on experience will be considered.
