The CNC Operator or CNC Set Up Operator is responsible for the efficient setup and operation of multi-axis CNC Lathe Machinery in order to run prototype jobs and production runs, in accordance to engineering drawings, using Magnet-Schultz of America's advanced CNC Machinery.
- Set up, operate, CNC Lathe and prove out new programming.
- Read and understand G-Code
- Interpret mechanical blueprints as well as a variety of geometric and trigonometric principles.
- Transfer metric to inches
- Maintain close tolerances (within .0001)
- Have a full understanding of machine tool accuracies, fixture offsets, and tool offsets
- Knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds and tool life
- Experience in utilizing all of the standard inspection tools in order to check your work
- Conduct proper inspection of first piece run and in process parts
- Experience working with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls
- Experience working with aluminum and stainless materials
- Past experience working with any of the following machines: Mori Seiki, Eurotech, Nakamura or Swiss Star Pay will depend on ability to set up.
