We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator specializing in lathes and Swiss-type turning centers to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating multi-axis CNC machines to manufacture high-precision components. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read technical blueprints, and experience working with sliding headstock (Swiss) technology.

Primary Responsibilities Machine Operation:

Run and monitor CNC Lathes and CNC Swiss Type machines (e.g., Citizen, Tsugami, Nomura) to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications.

Tooling:

Perform tool touch-offs and utilize tool presetters to verify geometries.

Quality Inspection:

Interpret blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) data. Inspect first-run and production parts using precision measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, etc)

Material & Feed Management:

Load raw stock into automatic bar feeders. Monitor machine performance, calculating appropriate feeds and speeds to optimize cutting parameters.

Routine Maintenance:

Complete daily equipment maintenance including fluid checks, machine lubrication, chip handling, and scrap removal.

Deburring & Secondary Ops:

Perform secondary operations like deburring, edge-breaking, and washing of parts during machine cycle times.

Qualifications & Skills Education:

High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certificate in precision machining is a strong plus.

Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience operating CNC lathes, with specific experience handling Swiss-style CNC machinery preferred.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in reading blueprints and manufacturing routers. Solid understanding of G-code and machine control interfaces. Comfortable utilizing standard mechanical inspection tools.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs , handle repeated physical tasks, and stand for extended periods in a machine shop environment.
