Job Description

Overview Priority Steel Industrial Contracting is looking to add a dependable, detail oriented CNC Plasma Operator/Fabrication Support Technician to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce high quality steel parts according to customer drawings and production schedules. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing accurate work, maintaining equipment, and working safely in a fast paced fabrication environment. Responsibilities Operate our Bend-Tech Dragon

Plate Plasma Table Load and unload steel plate using overhead hoist or forklift Read and interpret fabrication drawings and shop prints Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before cutting Perform machine setup, consumable changes, and routine maintenance Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and dimensional compliance Identify and report machine issues or material defects Perform minor grinding, slag removal, and part cleanup as required Label, organize, and stage completed parts for fabrication or shipment Maintain production records and communicate job status to supervisors Keep work area clean and organized Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks and customer pickups Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies Help maintain accurate consumable inventory Assist other shop personnel as production demands require Qualifications Previous experience operating CNC plasma, laser, waterjet, or other CNC cutting equipment preferred Experience with Hypertherm plasma systems is a plus Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints Basic computer skills Experience with CAD/CAM nesting software is a plus Ability to read tape measures and use precision measuring tools Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Forklift experience preferred Reliable attendance and positive work ethic/attitude Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to lift 75 pounds Comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery Preferred Experience Structural steel or miscellaneous metals fabrication Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods Frequently lift, bend, stoop, and reach Work in a fabrication shop environment with heat, noise, dust, and sparks Wear required PPE at all times Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Stable, year-round employment This is a full time, day-shift position.
