Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Set Up Operator and become a vital part of our precision machining process! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and operating CNC machines—such as lathes and milling machines—to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise will ensure that each part meets strict specifications and quality standards, contributing to the success of our manufacturing operations. Duties Set up CNC machining equipment, including lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper installation of tooling and fixtures Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining parameters and tooling requirements Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce precise parts Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions Perform quality inspections on machined parts through CNC quality inspection procedures and measurement techniques Adjust machine settings based on measurement feedback to maintain tight tolerances and optimal performance Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained according to safety standards Requirements Proven experience as a CNC Set Up Operator or similar role in manufacturing or metalworking industries Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code, with experience in CNC G-code programming preferred Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs for interpreting design specifications Experience operating machining tools such as grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling fixtures Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and mechanical blueprint interpretation skills Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets Ability to perform manual machining tasks on lathe or milling machines when necessary Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production processes Attention to detail with a focus on precision measurement in machining using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly and effectively Join us as a CNC Set Up Operator where your expertise drives precision manufacturing excellence!
