Job Description

Overview The CNC Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC laser-cutting equipment to produce quality parts according to production specifications. This position also provides hands-on operational leadership by supporting other operators, coordinating daily priorities, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and promoting safe and efficient work practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC laser-cutting machine. Load programs, select materials, and adjust machine settings as required. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and specifications. Inspect finished parts using appropriate measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met. Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot operational or cutting-quality issues. Coordinate daily work priorities and provide guidance and training to other operators. Ensure materials, parts, and production information are properly identified and documented. Perform routine machine inspections, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance. Communicate equipment problems, material shortages, quality concerns, and production delays to the supervisor. Follow all safety procedures, including required PPE and machine-specific safety rules. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction. Perform other production-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CNC laser-cutting equipment in a manufacturing environment. Previous lead or senior operator experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and cutting processes. Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Ability to identify and work with different types and thicknesses of metal. Basic computer and production-documentation skills. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to train and guide employees while working effectively as part of a team. Dependable attendance and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, with assistance when required. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and handle production materials. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, and required PPE.

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
