Job Description
Job Summary Prince Rubber & Plastics is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist for our rubber and plastics manufacturing facility. This position will primarily, but not exclusively, involve programming and operating CNC equipment to manufacture variously shaped rubber parts with tight tolerances from sheets of different thicknesses. The ideal candidate will have CNC programming and machining experience, including knowledge of G-code, tooling, machine setup, positioning and reading drawings. We currently use Mastercam, so previous Mastercam experience is preferred. However, candidates with experience using other CNC programming software are encouraged to apply. The selected employee will train under our senior CNC Programmer/Machinist to learn Prince's software, equipment, procedures, quality requirements and preventive-maintenance practices. Responsibilities Program, set up and operate CNC equipment. Read CAD drawings and use them to program new parts. Select the appropriate tooling and establish machine positioning for each job. Load materials and verify machine settings before beginning production. Monitor CNC operations to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements. Deburr and finish parts after machining when required. Perform routine CNC cleaning and preventive maintenance. Assist with basic equipment troubleshooting. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures and operating practices. Required Qualifications Knowledge of CNC programming and equipment operation. At least one year of experience operating CNC equipment. Familiarity with CNC tooling, setup and positioning. Ability to read and understand drawings. Ability to use common hand tools for equipment cleaning and maintenance. Familiarity of deburring and post-machining finishing processes. Ability to perform general measurements and quality inspections. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when required. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean work area. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of CNC programming and operating experience. Experience using Mastercam software. Experience programming CNC equipment from drawings. Experience with CNC tooling, setup and positioning. Understanding of basic CNC components and machine functions. Experience performing routine maintenance and general equipment troubleshooting. Experience working in a rubber, plastics or similar manufacturing environment.
