The Opportunity:
Precision, Process, & Performance Are you a meticulous problem-solver who treats workspace organization and precision like a craft? Metal Supermarkets, the world's largest supplier of small-quantity metals, is looking for a Metal Production Specialist who combines technical aptitude with disciplined process execution. We are not looking for casual general labor. This is an analytical, process-driven role. You will be responsible for programming and operating CNC and industrial fabrication equipment, executing work orders with precision, planning material layouts to minimize waste, and maintaining an immaculate, retail-ready storefront and warehouse. If you lack attention to detail or struggle with precision measurements, this role is not for you.
Core Responsibilities CNC & Equipment Operation:
Set up, program, and operate CNC equipment, industrial saws, and shears to process customer orders strictly according to detailed work orders while maintaining company standard tolerances.
Material Utilization & Planning:
Analyze work orders and raw stock sizes to plan efficient cuts, minimizing scrap and optimizing material yield.
Quality & Specification Control:
Verify all cuts and dimensions using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, and tape measures down to exact fractions and decimals) before staging.
Merchandising & Facility Standards:
Uphold pristine housekeeping and inventory organization standards, keeping the warehouse and customer-facing floor exceptionally clean, safe, and tour-ready at all times.
Logistics & Regional Fulfillment:
Manage order staging, warehouse stock control, and safely operate the company's 21-foot flatbed delivery truck for regional client fulfillment (Class D License mandatory). Requirements & Qualifications To succeed in this role, you must meet the following mandatory baseline standards:
Technical & CNC Aptitude:
Proven experience operating CNC machinery, automated production equipment, or precision industrial power tools.
Shop Math Mastery:
Fluency in fractions, decimals, conversions, and precision measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, squares). Testing on shop math and measurement will be part of the interview process.
Process Discipline:
Demonstrated ability to read, follow, and execute multi-step work orders systematically without missing details. Pride in
Environment:
A strong personal standard for workspace cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising.
Physical Capability:
Ability to remain active in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted.
Licensing & Record:
